18th Congress of the European Society for Agronomy
/ Rennes, France
As part of the ESA Conference 2024, the Congress of the European Agricultural Society, a poster was presented from August 26 to 30 in Rennes, France, on the efficiency of mechanical weed control with the Naio Oz robot. This robot was tested over three years in the patchCROP landscape laboratory for mechanical weed control in and between rows of corn, with additional parameters such as yield and soil carbon being quantified. The use of pesticides was reduced without sacrificing harvest yield.
The European Society for Agronomy is a European network for crop science. Its biennial conference serves as a central platform for the exchange between science and practice on topics such as sustainability and productivity in the production of plant-based food, materials, and energy. Researchers from ZALF contributed with a total of eleven presentations and seven posters, presenting various aspects of plant production in Germany and Europe.
