EGU-Conference 2026 in Vienna
/ Wien
Lukas Thielemann and Lina Rohlmann from the SoilRob team gained valuable scientific insights at this year’s General Assembly of the European Geosciences Union (EGU), which took place in Vienna from May 3 to 8, 2026. With over 20,000 participants, the conference offers a unique platform for professional exchange and interdisciplinary networking.
In addition to the input from numerous lecture sessions, both were able to present their research findings during poster sessions. Lina presented her poster in the session “Linking soil structure dynamics and soil mechanical properties to soil functioning,”
while Lukas presented his findings in the session “Emerging approaches to understanding diverse soil microbial interactions that drive biogeochemical cycles in a changing world.” These poster sessions provided an excellent opportunity to engage with scientists from around the world, discuss research findings, and gain new ideas and perspectives for further work within the SoilRob project.
In addition to the scientific contributions, the international exchange with researchers from a wide variety of disciplines was particularly valuable and made participation in the EGU a rewarding experience.
